HubbsTop10 Part 3

We are here with the final part of our Top 10 of 2016 and then there were 3.

Out of all the big songs that have blessed our ears this year, out of all the bangers that people have been dancing to, we have managed to narrow down to the top 3 and this took hours of discussion, many of coffee breaks and a few patches of hair missing.

And the bronze medalist is…

3, Craig David – Nothing Like This

The comeback of the year. Craig David, the living legend, the man every man wants to be was HUGE in the early 00’s then sort of, VANISHED.

Well 2016 was a huge comeback for the king. His comeback single “When The Bassline Drops” featuring Big Narstie was huge but only managed 10th in the UK Chart. But the biggest tune, in our opinion, was Nothing Like This which featured Deep House Duo, Blonde. Nothing like this peaked as high as fifth in the UK Dance Chart and filled every single dance-floor throughout the summer.

We thank Craig for returning to the scene and we cannot wait to see what he will come up with in 2017

So in second place is….

2, Lukas Graham – 7 Years

The biggest selling song in the UK from a Danish Band sounds good doesn’t it? Unfortunately the sentence continues with “since Aqua”

Ok, we’re doing Lukas Graham a injustice there and we have put 7 years in at number 2 for a good reason. It spent 5 weeks at number 1, it’s sold nearly 2 million copies and managed to spend 25 weeks in the top 40.

That sounds much better doesn’t it?

Now, the moment you have all been waiting for

1, Drake – One Dance

This is by far the biggest songs of the year, it spent 16 weeks at the top of the chart, it’s sold 1.8 million copies and broke streaming records left right and centre. The video might be super hard to find on YouTube but it’s even harder to ignore it on ANY radio station (included ourselves)

Oh did we mention it managed to stay at number 1 for 16 weeks, matching Wet Wet Wet’s – Love Is All Around unbelievably.

The song was later replaced at the top by Major Lazer’s “Cold Water” on the week of August 4, 2016.
